Scott cheerfully strolled to the confessional. Finally, B was gone! Scott's ultimate plan of winning the show was slowly becoming a success. Since, for now, he had no threats, Scott would be able to devise all the plans for his team during upcoming challenges without having anyone steal the spotlight.
"Now that B's gone, no one can mess with my plan," Scott said as he spoke to the camera. "One by one, I'll make sure each of those losers, otherwise known as my teammates, will be eliminated. After that, I will be the only one left, then I can dominate everyone else! I will win this! Manipulating my team into thinking B hated them was too easy! I wonder who should go next? Oh, I know! That weird nature girl. She gives me the creeps."
Meanwhile, Dawn was meditating within her cabin. Ever since B was eliminated, he was all that was on her mind.
How could B do this to us? I thought he was a good person! I sensed it in him!
Dawn opened her teal eyes. "I wonder if Scott knows more about B's treachery. I must go find him," she said to herself. As she got up from her bed, Dawn walked over to the boys' side of the cabin, knocking softly on the door.
"Hey Dawn. What's up?" Sam said upon answering the door.
"Greetings Sam. Have you seen Scott?"
"Uh, no. He should be around here somewhere, though."
"Thank you, Sam."
The moon child continued her search, desperate to know more about B. As she passed by the confessional, Dawn thought heard a voice. She pressed her ear against the door and listened. All she could hear was, "Manipulating my team into thinking B hated them was too easy! I wonder who should go next? Oh, I know! That weird nature girl. She gives me the creeps."
Dawn gasped. "Scott lied to us?! I knew I sensed something was wrong with him, b-but...I didn't want to believe it!" She shouted as she ran into the forest. Her heart was shattered, not because of Scott's deception, but on account of B being unjustly excluded from the competition.
"I knew B was a good person! Oh B, you didn't deserve this!" Dawn cried out as she flopped onto a nearby log. Suddenly, Dawn thought she heard footsteps behind her. She thought it was possibly one of the creatures that lived in the forest "Hello, little creature," she sighed. "I'm sorry to have intruded your dwelling. I just needed a place to think. Would you like me to..."
As she turned around, Dawn saw that it wasn't an animal's footsteps she heard. "B!" Dawn ran to the tall teenager, leaping into his arms.
B smiled softly as he held her against him. As he gently set her back on the ground, Dawn stared up at him with a mournful frown. "I know everything now. You're not the bad guy. Scott is. Oh, how I wish I wouldn't have voted you off! I should've known the whole time that Scott was an evil person! I'm truly sorry, B!"
The tiny nature lover hung her head in shame and allowed a few tears to roll down her face. B placed his hand beneath Dawn's chin and cupped it, gently lifting her head. A simple smile on his face led Dawn to believe that all was forgiven.
It looked as though B was about to speak, until Dawn stopped him by laying her pointer finger over his lips. "No words are needed, friend. I know now that you have forgiven me. Thank you."
With his hand still beneath Dawn's chin, B's face slowly came closer to hers. Dawn knew of B's intentions and instantly blushed. Their lips drew closer and closer until they heard Chris' voice on the PA speakers.
"Everyone to the Mess Hall for dinner! Now! Wouldn't want to keep Chef waiting!"
Dawn stepped back and rubbed her arm. "I-I guess I must take my leave. You better go too. Chris doesn't allow anyone to come back to the island, remember?"
B's gaze dropped to the ground, a frown forming on his face.
Standing on her tippy toes, Dawn cupped B's face in her hands. "I know we'll meet again soon," she said before planting a kiss on his cheek.
As Dawn turned to head back to the camp, B clutched one of her pale, dainty hands. The expression on his face was an unsettled one. Dawn could tell he didn't desire for her to leave his side.
"I must go, B. I'm sorry."
The silent genius hurriedly seized Dawn's shoulders and pulled her to him, their lips colliding. Dawn's gray-like eyes enlarged in disbelief, but shortly shut. Their lips parted after a mere minute.
"I-I hope to see you again soon, B," Dawn spoke, a shy smile on her face.
B nodded in agreement and held her hand once more, kissing the top of it. As B started walking away in the opposite direction, Dawn's smile faded into a frown. The silent genius, seeming to have sensed this, smiled at Dawn over his shoulder and winked, then continued on his way. Dawn didn't vacate from her position until B was completely out of sight. Her heart instantaneously felt heavy, and her eyes glistened with tears. Breathing out a sigh, Dawn dawdled back to camp, absolutely in no hurry to have any of Chef's gruel.
Sleep was no ally to Dawn that night. Once again, her thoughts were centered around B. What if she wouldn't be able to see him again? The thought of never having the opportunity to be with the only boy who has considered her a normal human being made her heart want to split in two. As the night progressed, Dawn slowly dozed off. There was one thought that gave her peace in mind. She knew for sure that B was thinking of her as much as she was thinking of him.
She sensed he was.
