Bare knuckle fighters don't have best friends?

Cody and Barrett had finished taping for the JBL and Cole show and he was feeling bad about Barrett never having a best friend but for some reason it annoyed him that Barrett wouldn't call him his best friend and that's why he was currently following him round like a little puppy.

"listen Cody , I've never had a best friend so what does is matter, I've learned in this life the only person you can trust is yourself"

"and me?"

"listen Cody me and you are friends..." .

"but I want us to be best friends" Cody interrupted with a pout.

"sorry Cody but im afraid I've got some bad news"

"NO you're not going to use that line on me, were not recording now Wade im being serious". Cody looked at Wade with a soft expression , he didn't know why being Barretts best friend was important to him all of a sudden ... actually he's not going to lie of course he knew the reason , it was because he wanted to know he meant something to the Brit. He spent a lot of time with Barrett recently and he came to the conclusion that maybe he was starting to have feelings for him , he was confused by all of this as he never had feelings for a man before but he knew Wade was different he could be himself around him , he could joke around and relax . Yet there was a whole other side to Barrett that he had witnessed and whether he knew it or not Wade had let his guard down around Cody but would build them right back up as soon as anyone else was around. Believe it or not he was a very sympathetic person who would help you out with no questions asked and protect you no matter what.

"Cody listen , everyone who I get close to leaves me , they get whatever they want from me and as soon as they get it I never see them again , people use me for personal gain and I'm sick of it"

"Wade im not using you, I have basically everything anyway all I want is you" Cody suddenly registered the words that came out his mouth. " wait ... that erm .. came out wrong.. what I meant was you know" Cody face flushed bright red as he tried to backtrack. Wade couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips , he thought it was cute when Cody rambled but he'd never say that out loud.

"Cody don't worry I understand what you meant"

"what you did so do you ... you know want to be my best friend? Cody asked carefully.

"no I don't want to be your best friend" Cody looked to the floor embarrassed , but Wade tipped his head back up so he could look into his eyes." I want to be your boyfriend" Cody could swear he could hear his own heart beat ,he closed his eyes sure it was a dream and that's when he felt plump lips press against his own in a soft gentle kiss. Cody re-opened his eyes and stared at Wade in shock causing him to step away.

"I'm sorry Cody .. i just thought that you wanted - can we just forget about this please? " Wade was about to walk away when he felt Cody take hold of his hands to pull him back and reattached their lips but this time they both melted into the kiss , Wade wrapped his arms around Codys waist who instantly wrapped his arms around Wades neck. They soon parted with matching smiles and their heads resting against each others, after what felt like forever Wade broke the silence.

"So I take that as a yes?"

"on one condition"

"name it"

"you say I'm your best friend"

"you have been my best friend for a long time Rhodes , I've just been waiting for you to admit we were more than that" Wade said before once again closing the gap between them.

A/N I'm missing Barrett I was hoping he would return for the UK tour and I would see him on Raw but sadly not, so I decided to post this I've had it for a while and I thought I may aswell post it. I loved these two on the JBL and Cole show.
