''It's a baby. I feel like that should've been obvious, Raph,'' April said. She and Raphael were on her bedroom floor.
Raph was standing, looking down in horror at the baby, who was sitting on April's lap. Her aunt had a super important meeting, so she had asked if April could watch her friend's 9 month old daughter, Lilly.
Raph scowled.
''I know it's a baby. I was just surprised to see it here,'' he said with an annoyed huff.
April frowned.
''First of all, she's a she. Second of all, how was I supposed to know that you would come just as she was being dropped off?'' April said, setting the rattle down.
Raph narrowed his eyes.
''You see, I told Donnie just to come get that book himself, but noooo, Mister "I'm too busy" sent me to do it,'' he said, voice dripping with annoyance.
April stood up, Lilly in her arms.
''He just lost Metalhead yesterday. Of course he's gonna try and distract himself,'' April said, scolding the turtle gently.
Raph crossed his arms. He started to say something but was interrupted by the baby poking him, narrowly missing his eye.
''It's trying to kill me!'' He cried. April sniffed.
''She's just trying to show affection.''
She started towards the tv. Placing the baby in front of the television, she turned it on.
''What the hell is this?''
April glanced at Raph.
''Teletubbies.''
He sat down on the couch, eyes locked on the screen.
''Just get the book,'' he said, his eyes glued to the screen.
She walked out with a sigh.
After rifling around her room for a bit, April finally found it.
''Yes!'' She said happily, pulling the book out from under her bed.
She walked back into the living room, a proud look on her face that quickly turned into a look of horror when she saw Lilly chewing on Raphael's sai.
She flew across the room and yanked the deadly weapon away from the baby.
April stalked up to Raph.
''Should I even ask,'' she growled. ''Why on earth you would let a baby put this in her mouth?'' He took it, wiping the spit off on the couch.
"She kept trying to knock the tv over. So I gave her it. God, stop looking at me like that. Splinter gave these to us as soon as we could walk," he said, waving her concerns off like one might a bug.
April opened her mouth to say something, then closed it. She just handed the book over
"Here. Tell Donnie to flip to page nineteen," she said with a sigh. Raph stood up to leave. After thinking for a minute, April held her hand up.
"Wait! You're going to stay and help me look after Lilly."
Raph crossed his arms.
"And why do I have to do that?" He said with a glare. The look April sent him made Raph take a step back.
"Ok, ok! I'll do it!" He cried.
Feeling irritated, Donatello landed on April's fire escape. He sends Raphael to do one simple task, and what does Raph do? He fails.
Donnie opened the window, which was unlocked, much to his concern. He stepped in, opening his mouth to yell Raph's name, when he spotted the scene in front of him. April was bouncing a crying baby up and down and screaming at Raph.
"Raphael, just find her toy!"
Raph was digging under the couch and screaming back, "I'm trying! Make her be quiet!" The baby continued to cry.
Donnie sighed deeply, rubbed his temples, then went back out the window. The book could wait.
