A/N: Well, I should be working on another story, but I've been too busy playing Dragon Age II, anyways. This is just something that came to mind while romancing Fenris for the second time. It's pretty obvious, to me, that Leandra didn't have a problem with Fenris as a person (She commented on him when my Hawke was talking to her about the idea of her getting married again.), but I don't think she approved of the fact that he was elven. Can't really say if she actually did or not, but it felt like she disapproved of our elven companions, regardless of closeness. It's not much, but whatever. Also, please note that the Hawke is male, though you can easily assume otherwise.
Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon Age or its characters. Sad, but very true.
You And That Elf
"I don't care what your mother thinks."
Black eyebrows furrowed at the words, though Hawke had to admit he'd expected little else from his elven lover. Fenris's reaction was to be predicted, considering what he'd just told him. What had he told him, exactly? Hawke had just broken it to Fenris what his mother thought of him.
For weeks, his mother hadn't hushed about the subject- she hadn't yet run out of things to say about the strange elf that he was friends with.
Or, more precisely, the elf that he had spent the last several years courting.
It was impossible to keep himself from smiling. His mother's accusations of Fenris being a "strange elf" were certainly far from being unfounded. He didn't consider for a moment that she, perhaps, didn't like Fenris as a person (His mother was simply too kind to actually dislike someone.), but in a way, she seemed disapproving of his choice to be with Fenris.
Perhaps because she'd spent the last few years trying to find him a wife.
And Hawke couldn't help but laugh, but that didn't keep Fenris from glowering at him.
"I didn't expect any less, Fenris."
