A/N: Hai guys! Elerael here, reporting for duty. Thank you guys so much for all the positive feedback on Heart Like The Sun! :) As thanks, here is a little vignette I just pulled out of thin air. My brand new laptop is being an uber-pain, so hopefully there aren't as many issues with this one. I feel like it has the capability to become something more...*wink wink* let me know what you guys think! Until next time, baiiii :)

Tempest

He quickly realized he had awakened something fearsome.

His mother and sister were predictable. They were like wolves, gnashing teeth and sharp claws. He was familiar with canines, so he knew just how to soothe their ruffled furs and lower their aggression levels back to that of a puppy, though he only wished they were as cuddly.

His teammate was like a flower. Small and dainty, and pretty. But like a flower, she had the potential to be poisonous, and slip in like venom and wreak untold amounts of havoc before you knew what hit you. His teacher, on the other hand, was like a bear. A big, sleeping mama bear.

He didn't know the Yamanaka girl well, but he thought her name fit her well. She was incredibly pig-headed (gods help him if she knew he thought that). She was also surprisingly intelligent, but you'd never tell for all the angry stampeding she did. Now that he thought about it, the Haruno girl was pretty similar.

But this...this was something very different. Out of all the women in his life, nothing compared to this. She was not a bear, or a dog, or a flower, or a boar. She was nothing so tangible as that.

If he had to put it into words, which he really didn't want to because he was sure he had said enough already, he could only say she was a force of nature. She was wild and unpredictable, like the wind. One second a gentle breeze, caressing your face and teasing your hair on a beautiful sunny July day. And without any warning, a violent storm would crash around you, shaking the very earth you stood on and making you hope you could find shelter before you are torn apart.

And he was looking for shelter, desperately.

"What do you mean, you lost it?" He wasn't sure if her eyes were the color of amber, or of the bright flames of Hell.

"Well, you see," he stumbled, grinning his biggest grin and rubbing the back of his head with his right hand. Maybe if he portrayed innocence she wouldn't flank him like a steak. "I set it down for just a second, Tenten. I swear." He heard a growl in response, not from his dog, and quickly added, "But I can find it!"

She exhaled through her nose sharply in annoyance, her chagrin as deadly as the prized katana he had misplaced. Not lost. "You'd better, Inuzuka. Because if you don't...let's just say all my training with Ibiki-sensei has been fruitful."

Gods help him.
