Final confrontation between Robin and Carly

"There's Ms. Goody-two-shoes. Butting in as usual." Carly sneered at her long-time adversary.

Robin turned and faced her. "I don't recall saying a word to you, Carly."

"I can see that you're nosing in where you don't belong, just like you always do."

Robin turned her back and resumed her conversation with Nikolas. "As I was saying, Nikolas…"

Carly strode across the room and grabbed Robin's arm. "Don't ignore me!"

Nikolas made a move toward Carly before Robin held up her hand to stop him. Patrick had walked in at that moment and moved toward the women as well. He stopped as he watched Robin calmly pull Carly's hand away.

"I don't know what your problem is Carly. I haven't said a word to you other than in response to you spewing your usual venom. I'm trying to talk to my friend. Don't you have anything better to do than insult me?"

"But it brings me so much pleasure." Her normal 'I dare you' smirk returned.

"How truly pathetic. Now if you will excuse me, I have plans that do not involve you. " Again Robin turned her back to Carly, this time seeing Patrick looking at her approvingly. She held out her hand to him and walked out of the restaurant with him as Nikolas returned to the table he was sharing with Emily.

Carly was left standing alone.

Once they were outside, Patrick twirled Robin around, pulling her into his arms. "You did good."

She smiled and stood on her tiptoes to kiss him softly. "I'm tired of dealing with her. She's not worth getting upset over."

"Finally! What took you so long to realize that?"

Robin laughed. "I always knew that but my temper got the better of me. But it was worth the restraint to see the look on her face just now. Priceless."

"And now can we go on our date and not mention her name?"

Robin nodded. "I have no plans to let her intrude on another minute."

He leaned over and kissed her hungrily. "Your place?"

Not trusting her voice, she nodded and pulled him towards his waiting car. Carly was the last thing on her mind.
