AN: After the last few episodes I am angry with both Sam and Andy. Andy broke the girl code and Sam is a dick for his emotional manipulation. But being angry with fictional characters is useless. So after a conversation with ariel133, I decided to try something else: This is the least likely pairing I could come up with.
I didn't think it was necessary to mention this, but just to clarify: The term Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgendered is not the same as Bondage-Discipline/Domination-Submission/Sadism-Ma sochism. Just because they have a different sexual orientation doesn't mean that they are living in a relationship with a different power dynamic. Lke most heterosexual couples the majority of homosexual couples strive to be equal as partners!
Andy sighed when she felt the warm body move against her back. She loved to sleep in this bed. Almost her entire adult life she had not felt comfortable to sleep over at a lover's place. Especially at the beginning of a relationship. And here she was, their first night together and she stayed over. She didn't know what it was, but it felt different with him. She felt save here. Which was ridiculous, when she thought about it. She should feel on edge. There were so many people she feared might barge in any moment. Still she felt more secure than she had in a very long time. She loved the scruff of his beard as he nuzzled her neck and down her shoulder blade. It seemed like it really was true: Older men really knew what they were doing!
Slowly she rolled onto her back. She wanted to see his face, wanted to greet him with a kiss. She knew she would have to get up soon. She was supposed to be at work in an hour. It would her take ages to get to the barn from here. But right now she didn't care. All she wanted to do, was to enjoy her man. Make the most of their first and last morning together. She knew Superintendent Peck was scheduled to come back some time today. They wouldn't be able to repeat last night any time soon. They would have to go back to sneaking around and stealing hours here and there during the day. She hated it. But she knew, if they were caught her career would be over. He wouldn't be able to protect her. However the more time she spend with him, the less she cared. She wanted him. She wanted him all for herself. And she wanted the whole world to know it. But he was married and she was working with his daughter. Hell her best friend was dating what might become her stepson one day. They had to go slow. Ease them into it. Go about it the right way. And not get caught.
When he dropped her off half a block from the barn, she was running late. She would have to rush it, if she wanted to make it to parade. Had he been able to drop her of in front the entrance, I would have made her life easier. But she knew, that they couldn't risk to be seen together anywhere near the station. So she swung her bag over her shoulder and ran.
And right in front of the entrance she ran into Sam. Collided with him, as if he was a brick wall. With a gentle touch he helped her steady herself. His face was full of concern, when he checked her for any physical injuries. Once he had finally convinced himself, that she had not been harmed, he let go of her and opened the door for her. And for a brief moment she saw an unfamiliar glare on his hand. Sam wore a ring.
"So, uh, you… erm… you know…" She gestured to his hand.
"Yeah, we married."
"When?"
"Last weekend. He surprised me with a plane ticket to Vegas." Sam wore a soft expression.
"You flew?"
"Yeah, I flew. That's what I said, isn't it?"
"Erm, yeah… You said that… just… I always thought you hated flying."
"Yeah. But it wasn't as bad. Donny distracted me the whole flight. I didn't even have time to be afraid."
"Good. That's really good for you. … So… um… was it planned or spontaneous?"
"Huh?"
"I mean it's Vegas. Did you plan to get married? Did you bring your tuxes or did you just go to a wedding chapel? Please tell me you were the one wearing white!"
"Nah, we went how we were. It was just the whole vibe. All the love and excitement and we thought, why wait? It took us long enough. Let's make it official."
"Yeah, I guess I can understand that you didn't wanna wait anymore. So… who changed his last name? Are you Samuel Boyd now?"
"Nope. We decided that Donny changes his last name. He is now officially Donovan Swarek. We just came back from HQ. You know filling out paper work. Getting new name bars. All that stuff. As exciting as marriage is, the paper work is really a bitch."
Let's end it here. I decided not to include adoption and Jo as a surrogate in this one-shot. I am sure you can make up your own crazy storylines for that.
