Your world can change in the blink of an eye. One event, one unexpected twist of fate...and suddenly the world as you knew...is gone. Forever. All that you held dear, all that you held close...is washed away in a sea of distant memory.
Queen Myrrah
Flood and Fire
Putting out the scattered fires,
The liquid monster heaves.
Some escape its heaving wrath,
Others cast aside like leaves.
...
Ancient stone comes crashing down,
Consumed by its gaping maw.
Roaring hunger made manifest,
As never seen before.
...
The sky above indifferent,
To both flood and flame.
Impartial judge to Man and Locust,
Not casting any blame.
...
Jacinto and then the Hollow,
Two slates are wiped clean.
Some escape in waking nightmare,
Others dare to dream.
...
And finally the tide recedes,
But the sorrow remains.
The sea has washed away the blood,
Yet lingers still the pain.

Admittedly not the first time I've written about the sinking of Jacinto, nor the first time I've called a story "Flood and Fire." Meh. Guess I'm into mass destruction. 0_0
