~*~PROLOGUE~*~
She stared blankly at the object in her hand, as the young woman thought of what she was to do, yet all she could think of was the situation and what had led up to this. The dial tone fell on deaf ears, ears that were intent on past conversations.
~~~*~~~
It was the summer of her first year of university. The young women looked excitedly at the campus around her. This was the place to make something of herself, to make a new life.
She glanced around happily, wondering where to start her exploration, who to speak to. Peering at the groups of people bunched at various points on the school's grounds, she suddenly felt like an outcast. All of the people seemed to know eachother, and she knew no one. Cursing at her new found shyness, she felt completely lost, until her eyes fell upon a blonde- haired individual, leaning with his back against a tree.
'Now he looks mighty delicious' The woman thought mischeiviously to herself, regaining her old personality. 'I suppose he'd be an excellent candidate for my first friend here. After all, he is on his own.'
Standing up straight, she gracefully strode over to the blonde, and tapped on his shoulder. He slowly turned around, as she tossed her long honey-brown hair over her shoulder. Extending her hand, she began to introduce herself, until her chocolate brown eyes met his icy blues, and her heart fluttered.
"Matt?" The women questioned, before being swept into a warm embrace.
~~~*~~~
A silent tear crept down the woman's face as she returned to the present reality. Brushing her tangled hair out of her worn-out features, she continued to stare at the telephone in front of her. She knew she had to call, but how could she? She hadn't talked to these people in a very long time. But it had to be done, and no one else could do it.
Shakily, she dialed the number from memory. Holding her breath, a young male answered the phone.
"Hello?"
Releasing the breath, the young woman spilled out the words she didn't even imagine herself to be saying.
"TK? It's Mimi Tachikawa. Listen, I'm calling about Matt..."
~*~END PROLOGUE~*~
