"Hey Pipes," says Alex Vause. There's no answer, not that she was expecting there to be. She sat down in the chair across the room and folded her hands in her lap, trying to think of what to say next.
"We really should have kept in touch after we were let out." Alex says. Piper remains silent.
"I could have helped you, you know. Could have protected you. But I was too pissed at you for what you did so long ago. I should have just let that all go." Piper still doesn't answer. Alex gets up and moves to Piper's bedside. She becomes angry with the silence in the room.
"Dammit Piper! How the hell could you be so stupid? How could get into drugs after all we've seen? It's one thing to be selling them, but doing them? I thought you were smarter than that! Why would you fuck up like this?" Alex is practically yelling by now, her eyes stinging with impending tears. One tear falls and she quickly wipes it away.
Just then, there's a knock on the door. It swings open to reveal a doctor in a lab coat and two police officers.
"Excuse me ma'am, we're going to need to take the body now." says the doctor. Alex nods slowly, and sits down on Piper's bed, taking an unmoving hand into her own.
"Dammit Piper," Alex says weakly, taking the hand up to her mouth to kiss it. "How could you do this?"
