EPOV
"Come on!" My girlfriend pleaded.
"I will not!"
"Why not?" She demanded
"Because I might get hungry."
"But.. but... just take a big whiff of me?"
"Leah, you smell amazing, just, not like food. "
"But I wanna go to the zoo!" She said, almost whining.
"You know that isn't possible."
"I believe in you." She said sweetly. To sweetly.
"You will not trick me into agreeing with you."
"I wouldn't trick you, you're to smart to fall for such a thing." She
"I am not!" I said, 'Wait, what?' "I am! That's right!"
"And you're so smart that you know it would be dumb of you to not go to the zoo on our anniversary, because if you didn't comply with your overzealous girlfriend, she would be highly upset. " Leah said, matter-of-factually.
"Right!" I said. Confused, yet happy that she had called me smart.
"Well, then, pick me up tomorrow at 12, and make sure to hunt beforehand, cause I don't want to have to explain why one of the tigers went missing." She said, kissing me lightly on the lips, then almost skipping out the door.
"What just happened?" I ask, a little dazed.
"That, my foolish little brother, was manipulation." Jasper said with a smirk.
"Oh, OK- wait, who you callin' littl- foolish?" I said, putting him in a headlock. He easily twisted out of reach, and ran up the stairs. Thus, a game of hardcore tag was established.
The Next Day
Leah was out the door the moment I pulled into her driveway. She bounded down the steps and gracefully hopped into my jeep, pulling closed the door in the same fluid movement.
"Thanks for taking me to the zoo. And for putting up with me for... three years, now." She said, giving me a soft smile that almost had my dead insides melting.
"It has been my pleasure. But, I'm curious. How did you trick me into this?" I ask.
"Well, first I used the fact that you were starting to disagree with everything I said, against you, then I used big words. Admit it, you're whipped." She said smiling playfully at me.
"OK, I'm whipped." I said softly, looking in her eyes. I could see the surprise she was trying to hide, and smiled a little, knowing I caught her off guard. Then I nudged her and turned the stereo as high as it would go. Leah smiled to herself then started singing, trying to sound horrible, but still managing to make it sound like music.
When we finally managed to get to the zoo, there were no other cars. We walked up and saw a sign on the front gates:
September 18, closed for annual maintenance and cleaning.

Leah's smile falls, and I know that I would do anything to put it back on.
"Ah. I wanted to see the wolves." She says, disappointed.
"We aren't going to let that stop us are we? Just think, a little sign, defeating the mighty Leah Clearwater? Naw, that ain't possible." I say confidently.
She smiles a bit.
"Then what will we do? We can't exactly walk in, now can we?"
"Well, let's see. We can't go under, we can't go through, we can't go around. That leaves us one option!" Leah looks confused as I said this, so I just take her hand and leap over the gate. "Over!"
She laughs loudly, then quickly muffles her laughter with her hand when she realizes we're trespassing.
"Come on, let's go see those wolves." I say, diverting her attention. She gives me a thankful smile that says "I-Love-It-When-You-Break- Rules-For-Me." and kisses me passionately on the lips.
