I remember Kenji and I were sitting on the couch in my house. We sat in silence, he didn't look like he felt like talking, his eyes grew with sadness. I wonder what's wrong with him.

"Veronica," he turned his head to glare at me.

"Are you feeling okay? "

"How about we visit our favorite place we'd hang out as kids," he suggested.

I stood up. "Yeah!" He ignored my question, is he okay? I hope so.

We left the house together. I know what he's talking about. Our place was at an old park, nobody tends to it anymore, we found it one day, that's our spot.

We walked down the street. "I wonder if its still there," I said.

"Its probably still there."

We turned down the street and we reached to the old park. It wasn't changed a bit, it still looks the same.

"Hey, that tree is still there!" Kenji pointed in the distance.

We walked over to the tree. We carved our names in the tree and we had our first kiss at this tree. "I remember carving our names," I said, tracing the letters with my finger.

"We also had our first kiss." His face suddenly grew sad and his eyes glared at the ground.

"Kenji, are you okay?"

He turned his gaze as I called out his name. "I'm moving."

"What? Where?" This can't be happening!

"I'm going to college. "

"Are you going to come back?"

"I don't know. I'll visit when I'm on break."

"When are you leaving? "

He sighed. "Today. "

Tears filled my eyes, today is the last day we have together.

He smiled and he grabbed my face and he kissed me. My back fell back against the tree. I closed my eyes, remembering our first kiss as kids. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I kissed him back.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and he stopped kissing me. "I love you," he whispered in my ear.

"I love you too!" I cried in his shoulder.

"I'm going to you so much."

"I don't want you to go," I said as I peered into his face.

"I know, I don't wanna go either. I should go, I don't want miss my plane."

"Can I come with you?"

He smiled. "Of course. "

As we arrived at the airport, we stood there in each others arms hugging and kissing. I'm going to miss him so much.

He pulled away. "Goodbye, I'll see you soon."

Only if he could change his mind, but I know he wants to live his dream, I never knew this day would come. I remember we promised each other that we'd be together forever and never move. That promise just got broken. "Bye." I watched him leave to catch his plane.

I turned on my heel and I drove to my house, as I got to my house, I was looking at the pictures of him and I that were hung on the wall. I never knew this day would come. I don't think I'm going to see him again.
