It had started like any other day for Gregor, his morning starting with a quick meal with the other Shepherd's before going to the training ground to continue his sparring sessions with the stoic swordsmen Lon'Qu. Everything seemed to be going smooth as they sparred, swords clashing together as they expertly executed the right thrusts, parries and dodges, neither missing a beat as was expected of two men with their prowess in sword play. Yet again as usually happened the more experienced mercenary managed to out maneuver the younger myrmidon, his training blade resting against his opponent's neck.
"Gregor is being impressed with growing skill of Lon'Qu, is not going to be long before you outmatch old man Gregor and Basilio. However much learning is still to be done so let us continue with training... that is if you have coin to pay for lesson." The grizzled warrior said as he pulled the glaring swordsmen to his feet, stepping back as Lon'Qu retrived his training sword and got into his stance. He waited for Gregor to do the same before grunting and reaching for a pouch on his belt that he threw over to the waiting hands of Gregor.
"You don't need to count it... The agreed amount is there with some interest since I have seemed to be improving." Lon'Qu said with a hint of annoyance as he lamented the hit the payment did to his savings... after all even he needed to have money to relax sometimes. He quickly shook the thoughts away as he returned to his stance as he saw his sparring opponent put the pouch on a loop in his belt before jumping at him with a vicious overhead swing.
Nodding to himself as the blow was perfectly deflected by the younger man, Gregor pulled his sword back and feinted as if he was going to sweep the myrmidon's legs with his sword. As Lon'Qu prepared the counter for such a strike, the wily merc suddenly shifted his blade and deftly tossed it from his right hand to his left, executing a spin to carry himself away while his opponent was caught in his trick. Surprisingly to him Lon'Qu didn't take the bait and moved quicker the Gregor expected, moving with the older man and perfectly blocking the hasty strike sent his way.
"This is the end!" The stoic man declared in a quiet and deadly serious voice as he knocked Gregor's sword wide and rushed in with his own blade, stopping it a few inches from the mercenaries' exposed throat. He allowed a small smirk to form on his face as he watched his mentor nod and accept that he was beaten, an almost fatherly pride shining in his eyes as he gave the former champion to the West Khan a large grin.
"See Gregor was speaking truth! Lon'Qu is master of the sword like Gregor knew he could be. You bring much pride to old mercenary such as Gregor." The orange haired man said as he pat Lon'Qu on the back and then wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Come drinks are on teacher Gregor! We must celebrate great steps taken this day as you now will be beating Khan in no time!"
The stoic man wanted to protest at first before nodding and allowing himself to feel pride at this accomplishment, nodding to the elder swordsman as he was drug away to the nearest tavern.
