This is my first fanfic, so please don't flame. This was inspired by a Gakuen Alice fanfic I recently read.
Dear Nagaru Tanigawa,
I am furious. As Kyon's best friend, I am appalled that I don't get enough screen time. I'm in his class, I sit with him at lunch nearly every day, and I've known him since Middle School! So why do I get even less lines then Taniguchi, who we've only known a few months? I WAS HIS CHILDHOOD SWEETHEART!
Haruhi Suzumiya is someone he only met that year as well, she treats him like scum, and she makes him pay every time he meets up with the others. And don't get me wrong, he told me that in pure confidence. I don't stalk. I just... watch from a distance. That's all.
If I were the main character, I'd have made it clear from the start that I am his number one pal, and also I would treat him like a dear brother, not a man-slave. I would slap Taniguchi whenever he made a snide remark. And I'd help him with his summer homework, instead of playing video games with his younger sister. And yes, he also told me that. I didn't hang outside his window that day, honestly... I don't stalk, I've told you that already.
The point is, throughout the whole series I've been a secondary character, one you randomly include sometimes just for the sake of it all. I'm not happy with that you know!! Maybe Taniguchi, Tsuruya and Kimidori, but not I! I, for one, am not satisfied by just sometimes being thrown into a chapter for good measure. I want to be a star, and whether that's okay with Haruhi Suzumiya or not doesn't matter to me. If she wants to destroy the world because I get a bigger role, so be it. But I'm telling you one thing – there's NO WAY that I'll stand it for much longer. You'd better include me in volume 10.
