A/N: Once again, I do not own Harry Potter.

Veronica Hart wandered around, bored. She sighed and brushed her unruly red hair out of her face, walking towards the forest. Her parents had always warned her about the forest, but she loved to walk through it. She walked in, the trees blocking out most of the sunlight, letting just enough in for her to see where she going. She walked until she found a small clearing, the one she called hers. She sat down and pulled out a book, the clearing well lit. She started to read, her surroundings melting away as she was pulled into the story. She hadn't been reading for long when a branch snapped near her, bringing her back to reality. Veronica looked up, frowning, attempting to see beyond the light of the clearing. Just then, a man appeared from the shadows, smirking. "Hello my dear." He said, his voice filled with thinly veiled malice. "W-Who are you?!" She asked, reaching for her wand. The man smirked again as more men, in dark clothing identical to his, appeared, flanking him. "We'd like you to come with us." The first man said. "Why?" She questioned, slowly bringing up her wand. "That's on a need-to-know basis, girl," another man said. "And you don't need to know." The first man finished. Almost too fast to see, the man pointed his wand at her and disarmed her easily. "Crucio!" He said, a wicked gleam in his eyes as Veronica screamed in pain. She gritted her teeth, trying to think through the pain. She let herself fall to the side, her arm out so her hand conveniently fell on her wand. Veronica grabbed her wand as the spell stopped, though her pain was immense, and got up, pointing her wand at them. She managed to disarm two of them, before she once again was disarmed. She closed her eyes as her wand dropped, and, knowing what would come next, stepped on her wand, snapping it. She opened her eyes, tears falling, and faced the men, seeing the mouth of one form the words of the spell she had read so much about, and looked up at the sky one final time, as the green light shot out of the man's wand, hitting her in the chest. She fell back, her dark blue eyes glassy, dead.
