Title: Coming to Terms

Disclaimer: I do not own CSI, Anthony Zuiker and CBS do. The song 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' is sung and owned by Bonnie Tyler.

Author's Note: I saw this prompt give me an idea for this one-shot. The prompt was to use a piece of music as inspiration and a proverb. So here is a preview of a story that is to come! Also not sure of the name of Finn's first husband so I am going with Chase.

Genre: General

Rating: T

Prompt: a piece of work/song lyric (Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart') and a proverb (back to square one)

This wasn't where Finn wanted to be; she would rather be anywhere but here. Alas, instead of going out to breakfast with her team she choose to go home. Now she was alone once again in her condo.

After getting a bite to eat and taking a quick shower she tried to sleep but was not able to so she got up and decided to listen to music on the radio and no sooner did she do so when Bonnie Tyler's song 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' came on.

As she listened one part that hit her hard:

Once upon a time

I was falling in love

But now I'm only falling apart

There's nothing I can do

A total eclipse of the heart

Wiping away the tears that had gathered she thought to herself everything in life seems to be mocking even the song.

Though she wanted to change the radio channel she continued to listen to the song. Towards the end of the song another part of the song was has hard for her to listen to:

Once upon a time there was light in my life

But now there's only love in the dark

Nothing I can say

A total eclipse of the heart

As the song came to an end and another song (one with an upbeat rhythm) began she began to think, all her relationships ended either in splitting up (as it was with Chase and Mike) or breakup (as it was with Nick and Moreno) or it was only meant to be friends and nothing more (as it was with John Merchiston). However, even if she wanted to give up and to continue to wallow in grief she knew that wasn't healthy and would lead to melancholy and she didn't have time for that…she had a job she loved and a great team of co-workers.

As the saying goes, back to square one and that is exactly what she going to do, try again in order to find the one she is meant to be with.

A/N 2: Thanks for reading 'Coming to Terms'. As always reviews are greatly appreciated!
