Everything was going according to plan. His pawn had locked the guardians away and even MIM had taken away Jack's powers, making him human. The eclipse was fast approaching, as Pitch moved through the shadows petting his twisted nightmares. After Pitch's defeat, the nightmares had gotten weak so they encircled him to make themselves stronger. Darkness feeding and building on itself. What finally made him come up to the surface though, was a girl with dark brown hair and eyes to match. Pitch stepped out of the shadow he was in, and into her bedroom. The bedroom had light blue walls that were covered with drawn pictures of her nightmares. The red carpet floor was cluttered with tossed blankets and stuffed animals. Pitch stood over the young girl. She had been making him stronger while the moon was getting weaker. She didn't look like much, but she held so much terror, power, to give him.

He looked into her dream, people cried for her help, fairies lay on the floor unable to fly, and ghosts wailed for peace. He smiled sinisterly as he pictured the many ways he could twist this dream into a worse state. The torments he could give her were endless. Pitch made his decision and touched the frail golden sand that held her weak dream together. As the young girl whimpered and twisted in her sleep, Pitch let out an evil laugh. The girl's eyes shot open as she gasped for air. She sat up in bed staring straight at Pitch. She had goose bumps all over, bags under her eyes, and was extremely pale. She tilted her head as her breath finally started to slow down. "Boogie Man?" she questioned as the frown on her lips started to disappear. Pitch started at her shocked. After, he lost the battle against the guardians no one believed in him again, and he was once again just a "fairytale".

The girl got out of bed and he took a step back. A small smile graced her lips as tears slipped out of her eyes. Then all of a sudden she jumped and her arms landed around him. "You came!" she whispered in pure happiness. She tightened her arms around him briefly. "I thought you wouldn't come because of the eclipse being tonight," she muttered into his clothes. She let go of Pitch and wiped away her tears. Her little hand had clung on to the edge of his clothes as she told him, "I know, you have to go and visit everyone else." She walked back to her bed and tucked herself in. She fell to sleep quickly. Pitch, with a strange feeling inside him, looked into her dream again. She was running against one of his nightmares but a slight smile was laced on her face. She ran into the shadows becoming one with them. Then she fell into Pitch's lair. "Boogie!" she screamed. He popped up from behind her. "Boo!" he shouted. She laughed. The nightmare came and she hid behind him. "It's okay," he offered her and he pulled her hand towards the horses nose. Pitch exited the nightmare. It was the same one that was in all the pictures she drew.

He disappeared away from there. He didn't like what happened, the girl embraced fear. She hugged him. But he couldn't not come back; he felt connected to her and enjoyed the power he gave him. "The hug never happened," he told himself. "I just created, imagined, it like a nightmare, but it just got a little misshaped," he muttered to himself. He went forwards towards his path of destruction, but that young girl and her warm little hug stayed in his mind.
