Disclaimer: I do not own Shake It Up.

A/N: For those who read and reviewed Thinking of You, thank you. Since some of you wanted me to write more about GeCe, I decided to write this drabble.

This is written in second person, and takes place during my Rogan drabble, "The Bet" (Little Memories). I hope it isn't too sappy. Enjoy.

Catching Up

You're sitting at a table in the middle of Crusty's, resting your chin on the palm of your hand as the boy across from you takes control of the conversation. He talks, and you listen, understanding only half of the story he's telling. There are many other conversations going on around you, but all you can hear is the familiar sound of his voice, the thick, European accent that you know so well.

It's right then and there when it hits you. How much you've missed hearing his one-of-a-kind voice, the way he speaks. You've even missed seeing him around, whether it was at school or at the Shake It Up, Chicago studio. Somehow, those two places felt different without him there. Up until one week ago, he'd been living halfway across the world for six months, leaving the United States to look after his ailing relative.

When you learned from his twin, after too long of an absence, that he was finally coming back to Chicago, you tried hard to hide your excitement from anyone who might question it. You were overjoyed, and the feelings you developed so long ago, though denied, were resurfacing.

Yesterday, you approached him with a query.

"Uh hey, Gunther, I was wondering if you'd like to have lunch with me at Crusty's tomorrow afternoon? We could, you know…catch up?"

"Sure, that sounds good to me," he replied.

Now you're sitting at a table in Crusty's, listening to the boy in front of you talk about his six-month stay back in "the old country". When he says something funny, you laugh heartily. He smiles before launching into yet another story.

Right now, you are extremely grateful for this moment.
