A clean man was always handsome, that much was true. But something about the stray marks of grease on the furniture, his hands and clothes that made Shera smile. To herself of course, if that smile was ever out in the open she'd sure get a telling off so she always made sure he was not in the room when she released it. Cleaning off the tabletops and such, her mind often wondered to the grease being in other places; namely, on her. A flush would rise to her cheeks and she would bite her lip, trying to get the thought from her mind. But by then it was too late, as soon as it appeared it would go further into the creases of her mind. The grease marks would go from his own hands and clothes to her own, soon ending up smeared on the white wall as he moved her against it. Placing a hand to her heart, she shook her head, forcing herself to focus.
"The hell you doin', Shera?"
Quickly turning around she saw Cid leaning against the doorframe; black grease smeared on different parts him and his clothing as he had just come in from working on the Tiny Bronco.
"Just cleaning."
"Looks like you're doin' a lot of damn daydreamin' to me."
Turning back to the table in front of her, Shera said nothing but wipe the black marks away. She heard him shifting behind her, but paid no attention to it, not wanting to get distracted any further. Balling up the cloth to put it in the dirty laundry she almost gasped, as Cid had moved right in front of her. Pushing up her glasses back onto her nose, she found herself wringing the cloth with the other hand.
"Shera?"
"Y-Yes?"
"You're startin' to get sloppy with the cleanin' around here."
Casting a glance around, she frowned slightly, "I don't—"
Taking his thumb across her cheek, he nodded, blue eyes shining mischievously, "Missed a spot."
For a moment their eyes met and Shera found herself thinking that the visions her mind was playing could actually become a reality. Not daring to move, she waited for a sign as to what to do next. Cid did nothing but as soon as the moment began it was over. Clearing his throat, he straightened his shoulders, heading back outside, "Back to work, Shera."
Blinking, unsure as to what just happened, Shera calmed herself down. Taking a look in the mirror, she allowed the smile to grow. Maybe the visions hadn't come true but for now, this was just as good.
Outside Cid looked up to the sky and in turn the rocket. Lighting up a cigarette, he blew out the smoke slowly. Another slip up like that and Shera would be onto him and what he really felt. And he couldn't have that happening.
