Tinman
Couldn't she be happy for once? She leaned against her navy blue satin chair and signed. The amount of guilt was a lot for a twenty-one year-old girl to handle. 'Annuals!'she reminded herself. The Ozian people called years annuals here. She grunted, another fun thing she got to remember. She smiled,'was it this hard for Dorothy?' Obviously no because Dorothy got to go back home to the other-side, while her place was in the O.Z. Smiling at her book, Alice in Wonderland, she realized they would be coming to get her soon. That HE would be coming to get her. She reluctantly stood, brushed off her dress, and went to put the book back. Slipping quietly into the hallway, the young princess moved toward her chambers. She literally tried not to run. She couldn't wait to throw on her pants, paint splattered shirt, and start working again on her newest creation. She started humming to herself,"I've got the magic in me, everyone I touch that track it turns into gold." She couldn't wait to get into her room and turn on her iPod. She grunted as her plum purple dress swayed behind her. She felt a presence behind her and giggled lightly,"aren't I a little old to still have a baby sitter?" She heard the hoarse chuckle behind her and stilled an oncoming shiver. "Knowing yu kiddo, yu can never be to sure." She laughed, actually laughed! Her TinMan was the only person to be able to bring her old self out lately. "Well I'm only going to my room, I-I mean chambers." "To do what?"Cain asked curiously. She blushed,"just a thing I forgot to finish, it's no biggie." Cain managed to step in front of her and smirk,"obviously it is a 'biggie' because you never let my look or enter your room while yu do it. Tell me Princess. Yu can trust me." Her face turned more red,"it's just stupid paintings Cain." "No it's not stupid princess, it's something yu really care about. That's all that matters, doesn't it?" She looked up at Cain,"damn tinman! When were yu going to tell me yu finally got that attitude change?!" He chuckled. She gave him a small smile and picked up her dress till it was just below her knee. She started running down the hallway, heels clicking the whole way. "Don't forget your dance lessons in the ballroom with Glitch and Azkedelia later!" Cain called after her. Slamming the door behind her, DG immediately ran to get her painting clothes. It was a loose white shirt, and grey sweatpants; both covered with multicolored paint splatters. She threw her raven curls into a messy bun, and grabbed her paintbrush. As she uncovered her latest project, she ran to the foot of her bed pulled her wooden chest from under it. She signed in relief as she grabbed her ihome. Scrolling through her playlist she picked out one of her favorite dancing songs, give me everything tonight by ne-yo and pitbull. The volume was at its highest point and a rare grin appeared on her pale face. She started belting out the words and swaying to the music. Her hands moved along her canvas with grace and delicacy, though her hips didn't. Sometimes she would back away to inspect her work and dance more while singing at the top of her lungs. At her favorite point in the song, she set her paintbrush down and started rapping with pitbull,
"Take advantage tonight,
cause tomorrow I'm m off to do battle perform for a princess,
But tonight,
I can make yu my queen and make love to yu any less,
Insane they way they ain't Rollin, money keep flowin hustlers live aside so I'm tiptoein, keep goin,
I got it locked down like Lindsey Lohan,
Put it on my life baby,
I'll make yu feel right baby,
Can't promise tomorrow but I promise tonight, Dale'"
She giggled and continued with her creation. Little did she know that Cain had been watching the whole time.
