Why was I shivering? I thought I was in a nice, warm bed. Did my brother rip the blanket off me? I thought.

I opened my eyes. This was definitely not where I was last night. I was sleeping in mud, a cool breeze was coming from my left, and there was mud all around me. I was stuck in some sort of quicksand pit, but I didn't panic. I don't know why.

"If this is some sort of prank, Saku, this isn't funny!" I called into the darkness. Of course, I knew he couldn't hear me. He had probably ran back home, waiting for me to come home, covered in mud, about to strangle him. Who said siblings were supposed to get along? I hated most of mine.

I tried to get up. Gravity didn't seem to be on my side, though. The moment I pushed off my hands, I tumbled backwards. I tried again. And again. And again. But I still could not get up. I eventually started walking on all fours out of the mud. "It's the quicksand," I said to myself.

Soon I got out of the pit. I tried to get up again, but to no avail. I continued walking on all fours for the time being.

As I walked, I pictured others seeing me look like a fool. I tried to cross my fingers, but I couldn't. This is bad, I thought to myself.

I walked to a nearby stream. It was then that I looked up. The moon was shining a faint light blue. This is obviously some sort of coincidence, I thought.

I decided to go swimming to take my mind off it, because I couldn't see any civilization anyways. The funny thing is I did not plan on doing so, it was some sort of subconscious decision. I tried to take off my shirt, but I then discovered I wasn't wearing a shirt. I wasn't even me.

Somehow, I had become a Mudkip.
