Luxord watched the clock and smirked. Only another few minutes until ten past ten past ten on the tenth of the tenth 2010. Supposedly this meant something, like it being the Nobody equivalent of a birthday, only more special. The fact that even Xemnas had conceded on this meant that it must be true.

He watched the clock slowly tick away until it was nine past ten on the tenth of the tenth 2010. Another minute and ten seconds to go… He absently wondered what was supposed to happen at that time. Xemnas had mumbled something about enhanced powers, but Luxord didn't really feel that he needed it – he was very good with his cards and time, even if he did say so himself.

With fifty three seconds to go, Xigbar ran in and slammed the door behind him to lean against it, panting and out of breath.

"Xigbar?" Luxord enquired curiously.

"Hah… Couldn't… let you… spend your… 'birthday'," Here he inserted quotation fingers, "all on your lonesome."

"I am perfectly happy to, Xigbar. I am quite adequate company, though the thought is appreciated nonetheless."

"Yeah well…" Xigbar, having regained his breath, shuffled his feet awkwardly. "It'll be more fun. Here, have cake." Xigbar somehow produced a cake from nowhere with a flourish. Luxord was slightly impressed, though the sharpshooter did have control over space so he suspected him of cheating a bit.

"Uh, thank you Xigbar…" Luxord blinked a few times and Xigbar carefully placed the curiously pink-iced cake on the bedside table.

"I swear Marluxia made it." He said by way of explanation.

"Ah, that would explain the, uh… Lovely magenta hue." Luxord chuckled.

"Yeah… Warped sense of humour, that one."

"And I assume you can talk." Xigbar let out a bark of laughter and ignored that in favour of commenting,

"Oh look, ten seconds."

"Correction: seven seconds." The Gambler smirked. Xigbar very maturely poked his tongue out.

"Five."

"… Two… One- nph?" The muffled question was due to Xigbar very suddenly and unexpectedly pressing his dry, rough lips against Luxord's.

Out of habit (and, to be honest, slight shock), Luxord unconsciously stopped time at ten past ten past ten on the tenth of the tenth 2010.

That second became probably the first to witness what later occurred within it.
