Disclaimer: I do not own any characters created by Tamora Pierce.

I wrote this randomly since I can't focus on my own stories. This was just something I made up in my head a long time ago, and am just now putting it on paper…err Microsoft Word document.

Onua looked around worriedly. Where are they? Kitten chirped sharply as the passed the newly altered river. She looked up, spotting Cloud near some willows. Thank you, Goddess. She hopped off the horse she'd rode in an attempt to catch up with Daine faster. Kitten followed, flopping gracelessly out of the saddlebags where she had perched and, consequently, had been left in by Onua in her haste.

Onua walked over to her friend's pony and murmured to her, "Where are Daine and Numair?" Cloud whinnied softly, jerking her head towards the heart of a willow tree. Onua glanced over, unable to see anything other that the first layer of leaves.

She took step further, until she could part that opaque curtain. She peered in and froze, stock stiff.

She stared, wide eyed, at Daine as she pressed Numair back against the willow's trunk. He, in turn, was wrapped around her and kissing her fiercely.

Just then, Kitten whistled, waddled past Onua and over to the pair.

They broke apart, instantly. "Kitten, what—" Daine looked around to see Onua behind her. "Oh, pox." Numair said nothing, but he did look rather nervous.

Onua hesitated for a moment, but then said, "You two should have at least said something before this."

Both man and girl blushed. Onua, unable to think of anything else to say, turned, calling over her shoulder, "Come on, let's get back to the others," and left, dropping the curtain of leaves behind her.

Daine supported Numair as they walked out from under the tree. When she spotted her pony, Daine snapped, "Why didn't you warn us?"

Must have slipped my mind. Cloud replied, wickedly.

Again, this is just randomness, I don't think it's very good, but I just wanted to write it so it would get out of my head. So please review :)
