Chapter 1: Trouble Right Here In New York City
Captain George Stacy winced as he walked into the room. Before him was a podium, and in front of that was a massive crowd of what seemed to be representatives of every last media outlet in the New York area.
You can do this, George. Just lie back and think of England.
"Good evening, everyone. I can see we're chomping at the bit here. Quite a natural reaction given the circumstances. I know you've got a lot of questions, and I'm going to answer the big ones first."
A hand shot up.
"Yes?"
"Nicholas Finch, Daily Bugle. Captain, do you have any information on the status of Norman Osborne?"
"Last I checked, he was going to Ravencroft Hospital for the Mentally Ill until he served his sentence or was deemed sane and reformed, whichever came first. Next question."
Another hand shot up.
"Ben Urich, Daily Bugle. Following Osborne's rampage as the Green Goblin, the attack on the Eyrie Building by mercenary troops and Osborne's own pet scheme to augment crooks to sell the NYPD augmentations, does the NYPD have any plans on how to deal with this new outbreak of crime?"
George Stacy sighed.
"We do. As of today, the NYPD has agreed to work with the Central Organization of Police Specialists to help fight the new 'super-crooks'. With COPS' advanced technology and highly trained personnel on our side, we hope to put a stop to these empowered criminals- or at least dampen their plans."
There was a round of applause from the crowd.
