Princess

Disclaimer: I only own a PS2 and a couple of CDs and DVDs, I'm actually quite poor.
Notes: This is mostly written to explain that I'm at the moment without my computer (from here on to be called Alice) and about to go to my home town (that is two kilometers away from the middle of nowhere) so this might be my last fic until next year.
"Hi."
She was nervous, and probably shaking, and seriously trying to say the right thing (and actually not knowing what the right thing might be). And the chair was uncomfortable and the sound of the machines was making her crazy.
"I'm Natsuki… Maybe you remember me? You used to be in love with me."
This was idiotic, to actually be talking to this thing, this empty body, this… this being that wasn't the woman she had known before (but she was still so ethereal and so beautiful). She grabbed the hand of the woman on the bed.
"We, I'm… You were in an accident, a couple of months before… actually more like half a year… The doctors had been saying that I need to let go. And maybe pull the…"
She couldn't say it, couldn't even breathe it (couldn't even believe that a part of her was thinking it).
"We have two kids… They've come here before, with Mai… I haven't being coming much… actually this is more like the first time… I…"
She had tried, more than once she had been in front of the doors of the hospital with flowers in her hand, and trying to force herself to enter, but in the end she couldn't do it (although a lot of boyfriends had been helped by the discarded flowers).
"The doctors said that there's no hope… Nao thinks that they don't know anything… She says that God works in mysterious ways… I used to hate her, you remember? But I was at her church the other day and she… Damn."
And how could she explain that she was trying to keep having hope when she was actually hopeless? That she smiled in front of their girls when in reality her heart broke with every second that the invisible clock marked? That she was dying along with her love in this white bed? (And she was sure that their oldest had noticed that her Mama was fading away just like her Kaasan)
"When I was younger I used to say that I didn't need anybody. But you were so unfair Shizuru… You made me change and now you do this to me… And I don't know what to do anymore… I would like that you tell me what to do…"
She let herself up from the chair and kissed the fascinatingly warm lips; she wanted to linger there, in that mouth that always made her feel as if the world was perfect, she let her hand caress the honey colored hair (and wondered to herself how it was possible that Shizuru still looked so perfect).
Suddenly her hand was tugged back, and emerald green eyes met blood red ones, a tired smile in the face of her love. And then she recalled what her youngest daughter had said to her before she came to this room; those silly words that had given her hope where there wasn't any.
"You have to go Mama, or don't you remember that the princess can only wake after a kiss?"
End.
More Notes: Yeah, it's not that good and it's short, but I least I wrote something, right? Inspired by my little sister (Chiara), she was telling me the tale of the Sleeping Beauty today on the phone (it was so cute, she thought I had never heard it before).
