A Day
Today was just a day
Just normal and typical
With everything okay
And perfectly natural
I started the day hoping
Praying I'd hear from you
But there's no point looking
I just had nothing to do
I went about my routine
Not thinking about why
Your life is so perfectly clean
And mine makes me cry
The sun came out of bed
And at night the same one set
Tinting the sky blood red
You saw it too, I bet
Was your day the same?
As everyone past?

From the first light to the last?
And suddenly, with the night
My tears came down my face
Without you there was no light
To guide me to my place
And yet the clouds cleared
With only a hint of grimness

I went about my business
