Dipper's POV:
My eyes fluttered open, still blurry from sleep. I sat up in my bed, then stretched my arms and yawned loudly. Warm sunlight poured through the triangle-shaped window of the attic, making my skin heat up in a pleasurable way.
Finally, I kicked off the sheets and got out of bed. Across the room, Mabel was wrapped in her blankets like a messy burrito, with stuffed animals strewn all over her body and bed. She was snoring loudly, still deeply asleep. She never really woke up as early as me, for she was definitely not a morning person.
I then proceeded to get dressed, pulling on my vest and sneakers, and putting my hat on as a final touch. I slipped my precious journal #3 into my vest, then left for the kitchen.
As soon as I reached the kitchen, I swung open the cabinet that was full of my food and pulled out a box of cereal. I made myself a big bowl, because today was another big day full of monster hunting and mystery solving.
I wolfed down my cereal quickly out of excitement, then tossed the bowl and spoon in the sink before leaving.
Today I walked with a bit of pep in my step, feeling happy and confident. I was surely going to find something today. I was just about to exit the Shack, before remembering that I should leave a note. I grabbed a piece of paper from the dining room table and pen I found on the armchair. I scribbled out a message as fast as possible. It read:
Mabel and Stan-
I left to go exploring in the woods. I'll be back at around dinner time.

I slapped the note on the armrest of the yellow chair, an obvious place. I nearly ran while leaving the Shack, and I couldn't help it. I was just too thrilled about what I planned on finding today.
