The halls at the school were dim and vacant. Except for a shadow standing at the end of it. I crept my way closer to it, looking into the empty lockers as I went. There were voices whispering in the halls telling me to run away. Telling me that they would make me pay if I continued. One voice was sounding like it came from a little girl, she screamed at me in pain. I ignored them and continued to the shadow. I was so close I could see that he was male; I could see the muscles in his back, the tattoos that swirled along his skin. His black jeans were striking against his pale skin, as was his damp black hair. I reached out to touch his shoulder, but gasped and took my hand back, as he turned. He looked at me with eyes that were the most unusual shade of green. He spoke with pale lips.
"Don't look for me anymore"
I stared in shock at him
"You would not be safe in this world"
I walked backwards down the hall, still staring at him as he watched me. My own slightly tanned hands shook. I couldn't take it anymore as I turned to run. I could feel that he was dangerous, but familiar at the same time. I ran to the stairs and clambered down them. I could hear millions of footsteps behind me, and I ran faster. I was almost at the door when something struck me in the back. I looked down to see a blade pierced through my chest, and then it was all black.
I woke up gasping for breath, running my hands through my sweaty, red curls. I looked towards the alarm clock that read 3:15. It was too early to get ready for school, but I knew I wouldn't go back to sleep. The dream had been the worst yet, it had been more detailed and for the first time I had seen his face. But who was he? I hadn't given a name to him, or an age, but I felt as if he was a memory.
I got up from my bed and out of my room. I crossed the hall to the bathroom, and stopped in front of the mirror. I looked awful with dark circles under my already grey eyes, and my skin looking a sickly white under the fluorescents. The only real color on me was my hair. It burned red like flames, curling and twisting all the way down my back.
I stripped out of my pajamas and stepped into the shower. After I finished I went through my usual routine of brushing my hair, teeth and getting dressed. After I finished pulling my sweater over my head I went downstairs and slipped on my shoes.
I pushed open the front door as I grabbed my keys, the morning outside was still cold and dark due to the upcoming winter. As I walked down the driveway I spotted somebody across the street. He looked like the boy in my dream. I jogged across the street and towards him, and as soon as I reached him, he ran away, dropping something in his haste. It was a black feather.
