Doorway to Heaven
by Riwen Manberueth (riwen-arranda-freak)
Every night I lie awake and think of you
Wondering where you are
Who you have become
It kills me to think
That I might never see you again
Yet I go on everyday
Hoping that I will find you
Praying that underneath the mask you wear
You are still the one I truly love
The night has fallen
The morning never comes
I cry out in my dreams of you
Waiting for you to come home
When I wake I know you won't be there
Like a book already written
Still I stand by the door and wait for you
I wait by the doorway to heaven
Every day I chase my dreams
Hoping to catch a glimpse
Of what you have become
It burns me to see
All the terrible things you've done
Yet I go on anyway
Wishing that I can change you
Praying that underneath the mask you wear
You are still the one I truly love
The night has fallen
The morning never comes
I cry out in my dreams of you
Waiting for you to come home
I wake and know you won't be there
The book has already been written
Still I stand by the door and wait for you
I'll wait by the doorway to heaven
