Dear Nellie,
I'm writing this letter to tell you two very important things that I am unable to express to you in person.
The first thing I want to tell you is that I want you to know that I forgive you for lying to me. I realize now that Lucy wouldn't be the same person she once was many years ago, just as I am not the same as I once was. I am better off without her now and I have moved on.
The second thing I want to tell you is that I love you. I realize that I was blinded by my revenge and grief to see that you, sweet Nellie, love me and that I feel the same way. I wish to marry you and live by the sea in a little seaside cottage, like you told me about that fine sunny day at Hyde Park.
