Why doesn't Connor/Superboy age?

In season 2, we discover that Connor Kent hadn't aged at all during the five year gap between the first and second season. But why? That wasn't too hard to figure out.

When Kid Flash, Robin, and Aqualad find him in season 1 he's 16 weeks old. Four months old. That means that in season 2, he's five!

I think that he won't be able to age until he's sixteen. I don't mean appearance wise, I mean with how long he's existed. He won't be able to age until he's been out of Cadmus/his pod for SIXTEEN years.

Well, Clark. Looks like you might end up being his father after all!
