They stared at the parchment. Neither spoke; both cringed inwardly and silently begged the other to say something first.
Remus twisted the hem of his robes. He had been clutching to them nervously, wringing them between his calloused palms as Severus calculated the math.
"Well…" was Severus' response to the figures in front of him. He glanced at Remus. The 32 year old lycan was staring pathetically down at the page. "It's only muggle math. Wizarding math is far more complex and accurate."
"I love you more then 39%," Remus muttered, fingering a hole in his jumper, "I love you 390%"
"Me too."
Needless to say, muggle math was banned from the Snape-Lupin household, Severus preferring to calculate with Wizarding digits, which he could alter to his likings.
