Sarutobi smiled gently in a way that brought no comfort to a still-shaken Naruto.
"Wear this at night", he instructed the small boy, kneeling down and handing him an odd looking cap with bucked teeth. "It will keep the nightmares at bay."
Naruto stared, wide-eyed, at the thing - large enough to cover his head and crafted to resemble the head of some animal. The inside was literally coated with ink-red seals, the writting being too jagged and hurried for him to read.
Still shorter than the Hokage - even though he knelt and tried to smile calm - Naruto looked up in the way only young children do.
"Can I name it?"
The seven ANBU surrounding the room made no comments.
The Kyuubi lashed itself out through the boy's mind as he lay, helpless, beneath his bed sheets. And every dream was a river of blood. Blood he knew, and blood he didn't.
And the blood was around him, the blood was inside him.
Note: I heard the cap being called "Arai".
I can't imagine there's that much difference between him and Gaara. Except that Naruto has something to keep his nightmares at bay.
