'Mind if I come in?'

'Mind if I leave?'

She sighed and pushed past him into his apartment.

'You haven't returned my calls.'

'I had no intention of returning your calls.'

Her shoulders sagged as she exhaled loudly and for a moment he was unsure whether it was a sign of aggravation or disappointment.

'You haven't left your apartment in two weeks.'

'Your suit jacket is at least two sizes too small. - Oh, I thought we were playing stating the obvious! I'm still on sick leave.'

'Your apartment is starting to turn into a health hazard. Plus I don't believe a bottle of bourbon a day is helping your convalescence.'

'So is this a social visit, a professional visit or a pity fuck visit? Personally I'm hoping for the latter.' He gave her his best attempt of a cocky smile.

'House.' She took a step towards him, placing a hand on his shoulder. 'Have you even tried to talk to him?'

'He shut off his phone. You still haven't answered my question.' He began fumbling at the top bottom of her jacket, but she made no move to stop him.

'You cracked your skull, suffered a heart attack, a seizure and had a brain bleed which put you into a coma just 4 weeks ago. You have been ignoring calls from everyone since you were discharged and you think I came here for a pity fuck!?'

'So you, Chase, Cameron and Kutner are everyone?' By now he had successfully opened her jacket only to reveal that she was wearing a matching top underneath. He looked up to find her staring intently at him.

'Give him time to mourn. You'll get him back eventually.' She rubbed his arm affectionally. 'You need to distract yourself. Go bowling with Chase. Let Kutner take you to the movies or take Cameron up to that offer to go to that concert next week. They are trying to be there for you!'

'I can think of better things to distract myself.' With this he buried his face into her neck and began placing light kisses on it.

'House. We can't.' Still she made no move.

He took a deep breath, smelling the scent of her hair before he withdrew from her.

'No need to be shy, there's nothing I haven't seen before.' He waggled his eyebrows at her.

She smiled.

'Take care of yourself, House. Please.'

He nodded and looked at the ground before him.

'You know, there is that new Chinese place on the corner of the 5th I haven't been to yet. I'm still waiting for someone to take me there for a nice night out.' She buttoned up her jacket and made a move for the door.

'I wonder who'd be stupid enough to take a hospital administrator out for dinner.' He smiled.

'So am I.' she answered before winking at him as she closed the door behind her.
