When I spoke them, they hadn't meant anything—Just a flippant comeback for the spirited captain.
"You know, you really will like me when you get to know me," she said.
"Oh, I adore you already, Captain," I replied. I just said whatever popped into my head. It's a failing of mine.
What I didn't realize was how true those words were. I adored her the moment she walked into that briefing. No one has ever matched wits with me so well before.
Those words echo in my head every time I look at her. Oh, I adore you already.
