The Life of a Forgotten

The Story of Zeratul

Chapter One - A Misunderstood Paladin

The Protoss have come a long way in their history of politics. Now they are pretty broken and leaniat, but there was a time when everything was different..

"Yes yes.. he can enter," said the voice of Aldaris in his military chambers as a young Protoss Praetor entered. "What is it Praetor Zeratul?" said Aldaris with annoyance. "Judicator, we have recieved recent reports of another race, made by our fathers the Xel 'Naga. "

"We've known about them for sometime, Praetor." he layed a hand on a shiny oval in front of him and the wall on the left opened up. It showed a creature slamming against a seethrough glass wall, it had a lizard like head, small sharp claws and legs like a toad. It was hunched over and continued slamming, hissing and growling.

"Judicator.. why haven't you told us.." said Zeratul with confusion.

"Because we are aware of the conspiracy you have with the Dark Templar Matriarch Raszagal!" said Aldaris rising in his chair.

"Judicator! I only spoke to her because --"

"Silence! You are stripped of your rank as Praetor and will be executed in front of the Protoss Aiur Conclave!" Aldaris shouted, and just as he did, a few Protoss warriors entered, extending their Psi Blades and escorting him out. But it wasn't that easy.

"You have to believe me!" He pleaded, and then saw Tassadar.

"Tassadar you believe I would never go against Aiur!" he said with a last plea.

"Indeed I do.." Tassadar said glancing at the two warriors. Tassadar lead armies but he wasnt of the rank of Praetor. "Duck!" Tassadar shot a Psi blast at both the warriors and Zeratul looked back as they fell.

"Get them!!" Aldaris shouted running out of his chambers. Both of them escaped out of the teleporter in the military stronghold and began running through the crowds of Aiur. A couple of Scouts circled over head and some more warriors were running out of the military building along with one of the extremely powerful Archons.

"An Archon!? Tassadar we must escape!" said Zeratul as he continued to run through the crowd with Tassadar. Tassadar stopped a minute, focused on Zeratul and another one appeared right next to him, Tassadar then ordered it back, this would buy them some time. After running they arrived at the Primary Protoss Ship Hangar, with the militia gone, they could relax.

"Come on, we'll take the Gantrithor" said Tassadar as he climbed up in the large Protoss Carrier.

"Tassadar we can go to Shakuras, the Matriarch we'll give us shelter there, we are now wanted."

"Yes this is true." They both passed into the control center of the massive carrier, usually it had a whole crew running it but hey were going to have to do it themselves. They deployed into orbit and into the massive Space. It was a long and tiring journey to the dark planet Shakuras. Near the edge of the Noraxian Galaxy.

"Computer, let down the sheilds, activate the Gantrithor's exits" Tassadar said as he landed the ship on the cold black ground. They both exited the control room and then when to the Gantrithor's exit but it was already open, the ships detectors could see the subjects, hunched over Protoss warriors with one large blade from hand to knee and black capes waving behind them, they all wore an article of clothing covering the front of their face.

"Hello Zeratul.. the Matriarch awaits.." said one of them in a very raspy and demon-like voice. And so they pressed on, Zeratul very sure of himself and yet Tassadar on a whole new world, not sure of his fate.
