Leia was sitting in the rec room of the Falcon. Having just escaped Cloud City and getting Luke his new hand, it was a good time to let everything sink in at last. Once again, Vader had taken someone she held dear away from her, and it was just as painful as the last time. She couldn't help but let the tears come out as she recalled Ezra and Han. One killed far before his time, and the other she might never see again if they don't pull off their rescue.

Luke entered the room, and could feel how hurt Leia was. Everything had happened so quickly recently that there wasn't much time for questions, but it didn't take much to figure out that Han's capture was affecting the princess so heavily. Figuring that something had happened while he was on Dagobah, and that Leia really needed someone to talk to, Luke approached her.

"Hey, Leia, what's wrong?"

Leia looked up towards Luke, the tears were evident now to anyone who just glanced in her general direction. Mustering up her strength, she gave her response.

"You know, I might never get to see Han again, and I only told him that I love him once, right before being frozen in carbonite."

Luke had figured as much, but hearing it out loud was still an interesting experience. Last time he had been around Han and Leia, they could barely last an hour without getting into some sort of an argument. To hear declarations of love dropped so casually was quite the whiplash. Still, he gave no sign that the news was any sort of a surprise. That wasn't what this was about.

"We'll get him back Leia, I know we can't fail."

"It's not just that Luke, This whole situation... it's reminding me of how something very similar happened before I met you and Han. When I was a teenager, there was a boy I knew who part of a Rebel Cell. His name was Ezra, and he was a Jedi Padawan. You actually remind me of him a lot." she said with a somewhat shaky voice, though it was clear that vocalizing everything was helping.

"And you cared for him like you do with Han?"

"Yes, though we got off on a much better start. We had more time together, though it was mostly long distance. Every time we could meet in person was the happiest moments of my life at that point. But of course, he had one final run in with Vader, and he was struck down while making sure as many members of the Alliance got away as possible."

Luke winced. He knew that his father had committed many horrible acts, but to have either personally hurt Leia twice, and helped in taking her homeworld from her.

"Luke?"

"Yes, Leia?"

"Am I just not allowed to be happy with anybody? Vader just keeps taking everything from me, and I don't know what I'd do if he kills you and Chewie too."

"Of course you are Leia, I wish it wasn't the case, but we do have to fight for our own happiness, if we give up now we're guaranteeing that we'll have lost Han forever."

Luke placed his on Leia's shoulder and smiled.

"We're going to get him back Leia, Jabba can't hope to stop us."

Ever since going down her line of though, Leia started to feel much better. She returned the smile and gave Luke a friendly hug.

"Thank you, Luke, for everything."

"Anytime."

Luke got up and left to check up on the droids, make sure they weren't getting into trouble again. Leia stood up with newfound determination, and began making a mental checklist of everything she'd need to infiltrate Jabba's Palace.

She will get Han back, even if it's the last thing she'd do. She wasn't going to let herself suffer like she did when she lost Ezra again.
