Darkness

The gears turned in the back ground as Robin stood in front of the screens. He looked at each of them and let his gaze linger on Star's. He had been Slade's apprentice for five years. He was now a twenty year old man. His hair had grown down to his chin and his mask had long been taken. Slade had sent him on one last mission, one more mission and the man would give him the thing he desired so much. He would give him their lives. He had completed that mission. He still held the bloody samurai sword in his hand. Robin didn't know why Slade wanted that woman dead and he didn't really care. He was interrupted from his thoughts by soft footsteps behind him.

"I've been waiting for you." Slade said softly.

"Where is it?" Robin said without looking at him.

"Pardon?"

"The controller, where is it?" Robin said finally turning toward him.

Slade pulled the controller out and handed it to Robin. He took it from him ans pocketed then turned his back on Slade once again.

"Of course, now that you're evil, what are you going to do with it?" Slade said softly.

"That's not your concern." Robin said his voice dropping to a whisper.

"True. You are my only concern." Slade said equally as quiet.

"Why'd you get me to do it?" Robin asked his voice cracking slightly.

"Does it really matter? You enjoyed it, didn't you, killing her?"Slade asked.

"Not as much as I'm going to enjoy this."

Before Slade could make a move Robin plunged the sword deep into Slade's stomach and twisted the handle. Slade grunted in pain and his breathing quickened.

"You destroyed my innocence, my life. Now I'm gonna watch you die." Robin whispered in his ear.

"I feel your heart, it's racing even as mine slows. You're enjoying this, I can feel it." Slade said quickly. Robin responded by digging the sword in deeper.

"This is what I hoped for. Your inner-evil nature finally showing itself for all its glory." Slade said his voice cracking under the strain. Robin pushed him off the sword and watched him fall to his knees.

"You're truly evil now, Robin. Welcome home." Slade whispers before he falls to the floor dead. Robin looks around thinking about what Slade had just said. And accepting it as nothing but the truth.
