Like Father, Like Daughter

Why had he lied to her for all those years? Why couldn't he have been straight with her? She watched him as he talked to Arthur and a fierce jealousy came over her. Look at the way he clapped him on the back when he made a joke. Pathetic. She got up and glanced back at Uther and nodded polietly.

"My Lord."

He nodded but a small frown creased his brow. "Is everything alright Morgana?"

She forced a smile. "Yes, my Lord, I am just a little tired."

He smiled back at her and she left, going back up to her chambers. She spent the next hour pacing as she finally came to a decision.

Later that night, Morgana found Uther in his room and closed the door behind her. He looked up and smiled.

"Morgana, what a pleasent suprise." He said as he walked towards her and took her hands in his.

"I have something to ask you, if you wouldn't mind." She added nervously.

She wasn't normally this nervous around Uther pendragon but she had a good reason to be this time. Yes, she and Morgause had plotted to overthrow him but maybe if she just told him what she knew, maybe there would be no need for war or anything else. He looked at her as though he would do anything for her and she took the chance to say what she wanted. She swallowed.

"I know." She said. He frowned in confusion. "You know what?" But his tone wasn't harsh, not by any means.

She took her hands out of his and walked around the table in his room.

"That night when I was near death, I-I heard you talking to Giaus..."

He paused and stared at her. "What did you hear?" He asked slowly. She shook her head. No, he had to be the one to tell her.

"You know what I heard and I need you to tell me if it's true..."

She could feel the tears and the hope welling up inside her. He paused for a long time and she wondered if he would say anything at all. If only he knew that in this moment, that Morgana held his fate in her hands.

"Just tell me the truth... it's all I ask." She was pleading with him now. Her heart sank when she saw him straighten. "Morgana, whatever you heard, I think you heard wrong."

She closed her eyes and licked her lips. "Fine... then I'll say it for you... I know that I am your daughter, Uther pendragon and now, I have as much right to that throne as Arthur does." She snarled.

He banged his fist on the table.

"You see?! I knew that you would be like this! That is precisely why I did not want to tell you!"

"I never wanted that throne untill I found out that you lied to me! All you had to do was tell me the truth. Tell me that I was your daughter! But you let me believe that I was another man's child! How could you do that? Does Arthur really mean more to you than I do?" She asked brokenly.

Uther sighed and scrubbed at his face.

"You both mean everything to me but only one can take the throne and it should be Arthur." He said sternly.

"Why? Because Arthur's mother is not mine?"

"Yes!" He snapped. She stopped and bowed her head. "I see..."

She turned to leave.

"Morgana..."

She stopped and glanced over her shoulder. "I'm sorry Uther but there is no going back for us now. You didn't want a daughter then and you shall have no daughter now."

If only Uther had of told her then maybe he wouldn't have set her on her murderous path that would ultimately destroy him and nearly his kingdom. He just prayed that Arthur would be the King Camelot needed.

Note- I just really wanted to do this. It's only a one shot but reviews are appreciated as always. Thanks for reading x
