I'm writing this at 4am on my phone so apologies if it actually turns out really crap

Screaming.

That is what woke him up at 3am - screaming.

It was Tetra again, he assumed - this had been happening ever since they got back from the realm of the ocean king. She'd been having awful nightmares that either ended in a sobbing mess or screaming in her sleep. Tonight was the screaming, apparently.

Link got out of bed and pulled on a random jumper - it was FREEZING out on the ocean - and left his room.

Niko's light next door was on. He had probably been woken up by Tetra, but if asked, he'd most likely say he was cutting up paper for a new "show". That is how it went. The Pirates pretended not to know about the nightmares, and Tetra pretended to believe them.

Link ran downstairs, not bothering to be quiet, and knocked on the door to her room. When there was no answer and only a sob, he opened it anyway.

Before he could speak, he was knocked down with such incredible force he couldn't breathe for a second. The force was, of course, Tetra, who was now clinging onto Link for dear life and sobbing into his jumper.

"You were dead! You were dead, they killed you, because they came back, and they made me watch and you died! You died and it was all my fault because I didn't stop them-"

"Shhhh... It was only a dream, Tetra."

"But it could've happened! What if you had died in real life! What if-"

"I didn't. I'm safe, you're safe, we both are. Couldn't be safer."

"But- what if they come back? What if you died!"

"They won't, I promise. I won't die."

The nightmare must've been pretty bad, he assumed - she was never this bad and had normally calmed down by now. "Tetra, would you like to tell me about your nightmare? It uh, it might help."

"No."

"Ok."

"Well it all started because Gan- he came back, and then so did Bel- the other one, and then, they said to me that they either killed you or me! And I said that I would die instead of you but then, then they killed you! They killed you and I couldn't stop it, I couldn't help and it was my fault, it's always my fault, everything's my fault!"

"Nothing's your fault-"

"YES, it is! If I had better aim I could've shot you straight to your sister! Or if I hadn't gone into that STUPID ship-"

"If you hadn't done that, we wouldn't be here now."

"I don't want you to die!" She said pathetically, "I want you to live!"

"Well, I am alive! So it's all good."

"But what if-"

"Stop what-iffing!"

"Don't die!"

"I won't!"

"Good, because I love you very much."

"Wh-"

"Don't make me say it again!" She whispered, still holding onto him, "it's weird. Besides, aren't you supposed to say it back?"

"Yeah." He whispered back, "I Love you too. So much."
