This is a Christmas present for and is dedicated to Des (Dessmond Williams) who has been my Doctor Who companion for the past two seasons now. Thanks for the discussions, the crazy theories (I haven't forgotten the TARDIS under Uluru or Moffat as the Master) the over-analysing, for listening to my regular blubbering over Amy and Rory's deaths, for being awesome and just for being with me on this emotional rollercoaster of pain and suffering. I love your epic ideas, and I hope we're still friends long into the Twelfth Doctor and beyond!
Merry Christmas, Des! I love you, so have some Pond!feels with some Martha thrown in from me! ;3

"It's a coincidence! It happens. It's what the universe does for fun." – The Eleventh Doctor
...
New York City, 1930
…
"Oh, I'm really, really sorry, I didn't see you walking. I just- here, let me help you," the dark skinned women breathlessly apologised, scrambling to help the older women that she had knocked into recollect the contents of her brown paper shopping bag. Around them, the busy New Yorken pedestrians diverged around the pair and the small pile of veg, with many an annoyed muttering reaching both women's ears.
"I'm fine, thank you very much!" the older woman snapped sharply in reply in a thick Scottish accent that seemed mildly out of place amongst the buzz of native city-goers . "Not like these vegetables cost me a small bloody fortune in this economy, or anything. Look, could you just look where you're going next time, thanks." With that, and an annoyed humph, she collected the last slightly trodden carrot and stood angrily back upright with a great swish of her long hair.
"Yeah, uh, sorry, I will," the younger women said quickly. However, before the last syllable had even dropped out of her mouth, the other women had already turned with a "Be sure you do, okay?" and was off, storming away, the click clack of her heels quickly becoming lost in the cacophony of city life and her bright red hair melding into the swarm of grey and black.
"Bye, then," the darker women called belatedly, and a little sarcastically. "Well, that was rude," she snarked, and then turned and walked away herself.
No one ever knew.

Had soooo much trouble finalising this! I didn't like the first couple of things I did with it, so I decided just to go simple (mostly because I ran out of time :P) and I like how its turned out.
This was inspired by a post I saw on Tumblr.
