Chapter One

Ruby was curious.

Sure, she felt kind of bad about what she was about to do. She knew for a fact that she was probably making a big mistake and definitely breaking a ton of laws. (Actually she wasn't too sure right now which lands' laws applied, so maybe she wasn't breaking any laws, but that was beside the point). She knew it was wrong and she was going to do it anyway.

They said curiosity killed the cat, but Ruby was entirely sure that if the authors of that particular saying had known about werewolves they would have rephrased it.

Ruby was about to drop dead of curiosity, so she only felt a little bad about spiking the sheriff's drink.

When she slid the mug onto Emma's table she felt a small twinge of guilt. But at that point it was too late. She'd only added a shot anyway, she'd discovered the vanilla flavored vodka a week earlier and while it sounded absolutely disguising it served its purpose well. The vanilla only added flavor to the creamy hot chocolate.

When Emma had first come to Storybrooke, before she'd accepted her responsibilities as a sheriff and a mother, she'd let loose a couple of times. And that was how Ruby knew that Emma was a chatty drunk. Unfortunately, ever since Emma became responsible she'd abandoned girls' night.

Desperate times called for desperate measures. And Ruby desperately needed to know if Emma Swan had a crush on Hook or Neal.

After all, there weren't that many single people in town and Ruby had to make sure she set her sights on someone who was available.

Plus the whole curiosity killing werewolves thing. She'd survived the Enchanted Forest, no way was she dying in a sleepy town in Maine.

AN: Please note, I am not condoning drugging people's drinks nor do I think that anyone should be given alcohol against their knowledge. Believe me, Ruby will learn her lesson.
