Disclaimer: I do not own Black Butler. Only the story.
A.N This is my first fanfiction so there are probably some grammar or spelling or writing mistakes. Forgive me. This is my first serious project in English so be gentle :D
Ciel and Sebastian were heading to the Phantomhive mansion after a long time. Ciel left his home 7 years ago and went with Sebastian to what he was calling now home. The demon world was a strange world, outrageous, but extremely fascinating. Ciel was no longer just Sebastian's young master; he became a powerful and an merciless demon. As soon as he arrived there, he found out that the land Sebastian was talking so little about was actually a land in which only the strongest survive. Ciel Phantomhive taught them that he was indeed the strongest.
Sebastian didn't know what to do or what to say about his master status. He was doomed. An eternity only for serving an arrogant and selfish young demon. Eventually, he became more attached to Ciel; it was like having a little puppy, well, a demon puppy. How Ciel will behave in the future will be determined by how he was raised. Their world had rules and it was wised to follow them. He hoped Ciel won't find this out the hard way. But this was what he was there for.
Indeed, the rules was something that the Earl couldn't stand; those laws were so annoying and even Sebastian was pretty serious about following them.
Another thing that he despised from the bottom of his heart was the food problem.
It seemed that if you want to be strong you need to fool the people, make the believe that they were your master. All this hard work just for a wish or a dream. Ciel couldn't believe what pitiful desires some of them had. Unlike many humans, he had a solid reason to make the contract with Sebastian Michaelis. But those bastards were weak, it was pretty easy for Ciel to eat. However, sometimes quality souls were so hard to find. Sebastian informed Ciel that if he wanted the best food a little bit of hard work was required. The butler couldn't help but smile when he saw that the Earl was keen on not doing a serious contract with a human. Ciel and Sebastian were nothing alike; he couldn't stand the thought that the contract would bond him with some pitiful person.
Everything was alright until the day Ciel decided he was bored.
Weirdly, Sebastian was bored as well.
'Stupid rules! ' Ciel said while their carriage was taking them to the Phantomhive mansion.
Sebastian giggled. His young master was still young and he was (again) acting like a child.
'I am sorry, young master, but I didn't create those rules . Eventually, there will be repercussions, but for the moment, we have no reason to worry about them."
Ciel was now annoyed at his butler.
'I have no regrets! '
'I am sure of it, my master. As a butler, I took care of everything; we did not cause troubles in the other world, so no one can touch us for doing something wrong. Coming here is a common thing for demons, specially for the ones who are hunting the best souls.'
Sebastian smirked. He knew that one thing on Ciel's wishlist was finding something to stop his hunger.
'What's our status?' asked Ciel.
'Well, all your love ones know you are coming back from America. You were studying there while the Phantomhive buisnnes reached the New World.'
Ciel stared at his butler than moved his sight to an invisible point in the air.
'I don't love anyone .' he said.
Again, Sebastian smiled.
His master was going to find out how complex and dangerous, human's world could be.
Back in the days, he was really young and naive and cared only for his revenge. He knew nothing.
'Ciel is coming back! Are you sure, Paula? This isn't a joke, is it?' asked Elizabeth in a loud voice.
Her loyal servant looked in her eyes with joy. Her mistress had received a good news about his fiancé, for the first time in 7 years .
'It's true, young mistress. The servants from Phantomhive mansion told me this. They are happy too.'
Elizabeth smiled and tears of joy were falling up her face. Her dear Ciel was coming back. Her heart broke when she found out that Ciel was gone. Their last meeting was so weird; she didn't know about his plans. They talked, they laughed, they danced. It was beautiful, it was perfect, it was the end.
But today he is coming back. My dear Ciel is coming back.
She stopped in front of the mirror; she was really changed. Her hair was longer and it fell in waves over her shoulders. Even her green eyes were diffrent, they were sad. A change Elizabeth was not proud of. However, no one was able to understand her feelings because she was always smiling making other people happy.
'I want to wear the most beautiful dress. Something that will show confidence and beauty. Maybe a little bit of color...'
Paula bounded. When Elizabeth was young she loved everything as long at it was cute. She was wearing just pink, blue, purple all this bright colors, but things had changed. The small innocent Elizabeth Midford had changed. Quite a lot for those who had known her before she received her legacy. For them, Lizzie was lost, forever.
'Young mistress, said Paula hardly abstained herself not to cry, I am so happy that you want to dress nicely. Lately you were so off. Tell me, do you want to wear something white?. You really look great in white, bright and you can be an angel'.
Elizabeth's smile disappeared. She hated being called angel.
'I do look like an angel, don't I?'
Paula was unable to see through her fake smile.
'Oh, yes, my lady! You will always be my little angel, but when you are wearing white...Oh, my dear, you simply glow.'
For nothing on this planet she wished the white dress, but Paula's happiness was so honest and she was really excited about Ciel's arrival. A little compromise was needed.
'Very well, Paula. I will dress as you want.'
'Thank you so much, my Lady. I will make you even more beautiful, it's going to be hard since you are a natural beauty, but I will do my best. And I know the perfect dress for you. It's white and lacy and not that it matter, very expensive. You are so lucky, my Lady! Not everybody received such beautiful gifts form the queen herself.'
Elizabeth frooze. It is not a gift, Paula. Our Queen is not sending gifts, just reminders.
Ciel was looking at his old but still new mansion. Sebastian was staring too. He had thought that Bard, Finnny and Mei-Rin would destroy everything without him, but nothing was actually changed.
'Quite impressive! ' said Sebastian.
'They are servants of the Phantomhives. It's normal to be able to do this. '
'You mean not destroy the place?' Sebastian laughed.
'I am impressed too!' Ciel smiled like an agreement.
Probably both underestimated those three.
From the house some strange noises were heard. The main door was suddenly broken and a happy Finny ran straight to Ciel.
'Young master! Sebastian! Thanks God, I am so happy that you come back' said Finny.
Bard had come next to Finny and kicked him.
'Oi Finny. Young master needn't any reason for leaving again . Behave yourself.'
'G-guys! I am sure that master is tired. We kept him outside all this time! 'tried Mei-Rin but the only result was the beginning of a true fight.
Sebastian looked at Ciel and they said in the same time:
'They didn't change.'
A.N After a long time I re-discovered my old F.F account and I remembered how much I loved this story and writing in English in general I guess. The mistakes are many...quite a lot I can tell. I will do my best to re-write everything the way I wanted in the first place.
