Believe it or not, I actually had to write this for my Language Arts Class. Is that cool or what? So, I hope you like it. Its my first fanfiction 'story' and its not very long. So... you know, read it!

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon.

A Simple Rose

He had done it again.

The self-centered, know-it-all,

Green haired boy named Drew...

Aka her worst enemy,

Had made her blush terribly bad, again.

She watched him walk coolly away,

Hands in his pockets,

As if nothing happened.

She glared all should could at him,

But the light pink stain on her cheeks gave it away.

Her three traveling friends,

Brock, Ash and Max ran up behind her,

Congratulating her on her victory.

She however, did not hear them,

As her thoughts were centered around the green haired boy.

Finally, she shook her head and sprinted after

The disappearing figure.

She called to her confused friends,

To stay where they were: she wouldn't take long.

She had some unfinished business to take care of.

The two had just competed in the Mulberry Pokemon Contest,

And of course,

May and Drew made it through the preliminaries,

And battled each other for the ribbon

In the final round.

While recalling the battle,

May fingered her half ribbon,

Glowing proudly in her ribbon case.

In the end the two tied,

So they split the Mulberry Ribbon in Half.

With her brown hair,

Hanging down out of her red bandanna,

And her yellow pack bumping against her lower back,

She ran to catch up with Drew,

And give him something.

Every time he gave it too her,

He always claimed with a grin

That it wasn't for her,

But for her beautiful and graceful

Butterfree.

She did not know

What to think of it.

But she had a plan,

Just for him, to counterattack it.

Plus, she wanted to see his reaction.

As she ran and called his name,

She went through her plan in her head,

One last time.

He stopped and smirked slightly

At her as she caught her breath.

Smiling at him,

She whipped out a white rose.

He looked confused and startled at it, then her,

And May giggled at the slight blush

That was creeping on his cheeks.

She then went on to say,

How the rose was for his Rosalia.

And then Drew finally composed himself,

Flicked his hair out of his eyes,

And took the rose with a grin.

May then winked at him,

And turned to go back to

Her impatient, hungry friends.

As she did,

Drew fingered the rose with admiration.

May was embarrassed,

Yet satisfied,

As she proudly held her own

Red rose tight in her hand,

The one he had given to her Butterfree.

When she approached her friends,

Max asked what she said to Drew.

May shrugged but smiled

Down at her little brother

As Ash complained he had nothing to eat for days.

As the trio walked to down town,

May turned around to wave goodbye.

But Drew was already gone.

May slightly smiled to herself,

He was all work and never play.

She didn't mind though,

She knew she would see him at

The next contest.

Her hands balled up with determination,

Next time she was going to win, for sure.

And who knows? Maybe she'll get another rose.
