That stupid rule had banded the Cygnus Knights together. That stupid rule put the apprentices' loyalty to the test. That stupid rule hurt and comforted.
All because of that stupid rule.

Rae was the strongest Night Walker of the lot, almost as strong as Eckart.
Cyprus was the strongest Soul Master, not including Mihail.
They often got into clashes, often got into fights had it not been for their mentors reprimanding them at every time. All it took was for one glare, one threatening stab - and chaos would descend upon Erev. Blood would splatter on the green grass before dissolving into the ground, almost as if it were water. But the shining red liquid was no illusion.
Cyprus was hotheaded, and Rae was very much the same. And those two qualities didn't go well together. However, Cyprus was a Soul Master, and Rae was a Night Walker. They can't be together. No.
Not with their arguments. If they were together, blood would be spilled all day, and Rae would have her throwing stars depleted. Eckart and Mihail were losing their grips on their star pupils' tempers.
The Fight started with a glare.
Rae had noticed Cyprus staring at her, and took it as a sign of a challenge. She leapt at him with a roar of rage, claw out and stars ready to be flung. Cyprus whipped out his weapon and aimed it at her.
She dodged quickly, flipping over him using his sword as a lever. Quick as she was, her strength was not large. She dawned on that fact when she saw Cyprus racing at her.
He flung the sword upwards.
She let out a screech.
A scar was ripped permanently from her chin to eyebrow. A fresh, bleeding cut, and he could see the emptiness pooling in the eye he had sliced.
She was going blind in that eye.
Eckart let out a shout and raced towards his star pupil. Mihail let out a roar of rage and lifted his.
He was scolded, beaten, and he was still tar pupil, a title he now detested. Because it prompted him to hurt her.
She turned the eye she could still see through to look at him. She told him she didn't blame him, that fights were natural. But he felt that he shouldn't be hitting someone so recklessly like that. And hurting a fellow apprentice! What kind of a Dawn Warrior was he!
He then mentally slapped himself. Why was he thinking that it was his fault he hurt her? Why did he feel sorry for her? He hated her. Why was he feeling this way?
With a feeling of dread, he understood. He liked her. And he couldn't deny that.
But they can't be together.
They can't.
All because of that stupid rule.
/Rule 23: All Cygnus Knights cannot be in a relationship of any form, and definitely not with another Cygnus Knight./
A/N) YEAH. I MADE UP THE RULE. UMAD?
