Family Life

"Mommy" Kate hears as between rough thunder claps.
The young brunette sits up in bed and rubs her eyes with smooth fingers. She feels her husband sit up beside her.
"Belle?" Kate answers "come here honey."
The petite child runs and throws herself into her mother's out stretched arms. She chokes out a whimper as another bolt of thunder bursts in the room.
"It's OK" Kate soothes as she rubs the child's back.
"You wanna sleep with Mommy and Daddy?" Gibbs asks as his brunette daughter snuggles in between them.
She nods adamantly, her check chaffing against the pale silk sheets. Kate snuggles down beside her and feels the bed settle as Gibbs does the same, he throws an arm around his daughter, smiles at her mother, as her arm joins his, and closes his eyes. The three fall back asleep to the rough sounds of thunder claps and the gentle sounds of fat, drowsy rain drops that pitter patter on the parched ground.
