Chapter One
It was another boring day at the guild. Erin and Baulbasaur had already prevented the world's paralysis, and things had pretty much went back to normal at the guild. Everyone was excited about them at first and so happy that they'd prevented the horrible thing, but after a while it seemed as if the world was never in danger of being paralyzed.
Also since then, she couldn't get her mind off Grovyle.
The last time she saw him was when he pushed Dusknoir into the future, and disappeared into the void himself too. Ever since that, every time she closed her eyes, memories of their short time traveling together flooded into her mind. But she knew that if he'd gone into the future, then he was probably never coming back.
Erin stared boredly at the outlaw bulletin board, as if waiting for something to appear out of nothing. She yawned and stretched, then said to Baulbasaur as she did every day,
"I'm so bored."
Since there were no good jobs on there, she led them back down to the bottom floor to bug Crogunk. She was right down the stairs when she heard Diglett and Loudred talking. Probably it was nothing, but she listened anyway.
"Pokemon detected! Pokemon detected!"
"Whose footprint? Whose footprint?"
"The footprint is…What's that? You want to see Team Twang?"
Erin hesitated, thinking of who is might be. It was probably Marill and Azurill again. She couldn't think of it possibly being anyone else.
"Hmm, I wonder who it is." Baulbasaur said.
Erin nodded slightly.
"ERIN, BAULBASAUR!" said Loudred, then turned and saw them. "Oh. Yeah, well you have a visitor."
'A visitor?' Erin thought, her heart racing. She tried not to jump to that conclusion, but she did anyway.
She took a deep breath and tried to get her expectations down. She told herself again that he'd gone into the future and was never coming back again.
"So are you going to stand there all day or go see who it is?" Loudred asked, his booming voice bringing her back to earth.
"Come on, Erin." Said Baulbasaur again, she just didn't know it. "Are you ok?"
Erin turned sharply. "Yeah I'm fine. Sorry, I blanked out for a moment." She gave a nervous laugh, then headed back up.
She rushed to the front of the guild and ran out of the gate. She glanced around and didn't see anyone. Her heart fell. She was about to trudge back in when she heard a familiar voice say.
"Hey Erin."
She spun around, and that was when she saw Grovyle leaning up against the totem pole.
"Grovyle!" Erin said, shocked. A sense of joy washed over her. She forgot all about Baulbasaur in the background.
She ran toward him, and he opened his arms wide, and caught her. He lifted her up in the air, spun her around, and then pulled her close to her. He closed his eyes, and breathed in. She closed hers also, content, smelling the sweet scent wafting off his body. They both opened their eyes, and stared into one another's. There was a moment of silence, and everything was perfect again. For Erin, at least.
Erin breathed in, then asked, "How did you get back here?"
"I'm not sure. Remember how you were? I ended up unconscious in Treeshroud Forest. I couldn't remember much, but I did remember feelings…and you."
This caused butterflies to go crazy in her stomach.
"And so, I searched and searched, and I finally found you…here."
Tears welled up in Erin's eyes, and spilled over.
"I love you, Erin," Grovyle said, "And I promise, I will never leave you again."
"I love you too," Erin sobbed, and they shared the most beautiful kiss either of them could imagine.
