She Talks to Angels

Summary: There were many things that Lisa regretted. The fact that she hurt her son, KC was one of them. A Lisa Guthrie drabble/character study.

Lisa hadn't always been a good mother. Infact, ther were times that she'd been downright horrible. When she'd been addicted to drugs, she couldn't control herself. Couldn't control the things that she did. Couldn't quit. There were times when she'd lock her son up in a closet when she was high. Sometimes she had ignored him, forgot about him, or she wouldn't stop her husband-his father-from taking his anger out on him. But she was trying to be better.

Jail had given her alot to think about. She had so much to lose by wasting away her life on drugs. It took a stint in jail with her son if foster care for her to realize this. The only thing that had kept her sane in there was the thought of her son and the locket that she'd worn around her neck with a strand of his hair tucked neatley inside and a picture of KC across from it.

Everyday, she'd sworn to herself that she would get better. And she had. But she still had a long way to go. Her son didn't trust her yet and with good reason. But she was going to try everyday to show him that she'd learned. She wasn't ever going to hurt him again.
