Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars. George Lucas does, but I wish I owned the
young Obi Wan Kenobi, as do most of us at this point ;).

Longing...

Obi Wan Kenobi stood looking out at the crowd. The cheers, applause and
music roared through the area. Then echoed off the great buildings of marble.
Jar Jar Binx began to descend from his animal, but was again trapped. Looking
away in disgust, a trait that did not belong to the Jedi. And then he saw "her".

Well, he saw her back but that was enough to make his breath catch and heart
skip a few beats. His lips went very dry and he struggled to keep his Jedi face
from showing any expression. Obi straightened his shoulders more and glance
at his new padwan. Who in turn was staring starry-eyed at the beautiful queen.
Even at nine Anikin was in love. Something Obi envied the boy for. To be able
to express his feeling in his voice, his eyes and the way he stood. Obi could
never do that, he didn't think he knew how.

The truth of the matter was that he didn't know when or how but Padme had
sweeped into his heart secretly. He knew her face was burned into his eyes,
her voice in his ears, her smell in his nose and her personality in his soul.

Queen Amidala turned and began to walk towards the palace. She wore a big
pink dress that flowed in the wind. Padme, the real queen, and formerly
disguised as a handmaid tilted her head and gave a warm smile to Obi Wan.
He nodded in return with a professionally pleased smile but inside he was
jumping up and down saying "she noticed me!" And then he too followed close
behind. For he was still her protector, a job he truly enjoyed but also gave a
great sorrow to his heart.

And that's the end of the first part!
