Jackie slipped a hand into the room, trying to find the light before she went in. Lord only knew what those turtles left on the floor in terms of weapons. Once the light flickered on, Jackie could see she probably would have ended up hurt. Weapons were everywhere. Sighing, Jackie got to work cleaning them up, using her own ninja skills to help her. She stopped short of Mikey's dark room, not wanting to go in and disturb him right now.
"Think I'll make some pasta salad for supper tonight. If they don't eat it right off."
She busied herself in the kitchen, after turning on the lights of course. If it was one thing Jackie really took for granted, it was the lights. She hated the darkness, hated what memories it brought back of her time with the Foot. She shook her head as she stirred up the salad, then put it in a fridge with a note to Mikey to not eat it. She went to work cleaning up the living areas of their underground home. After, she sat down with a mystery novel while the turtles and a few other mutants were waking up. Jane made her way into the kitchen for breakfast, yawning. She grabbed a glass of orange juice and toast and went to curl up by Jackie who Jane considered a sister. Shortly after it was the three girls who didn't live there, Marine, Mia and Karmen. Karmen was carried in by Mia.
"Having fun?"
"Nope."
Mia put Karmen down on the tile floor that the turtles had allowed Jackie to install for her. She slithered around, using her arms to pull her about.
"Hey Jack." Mia went up to her, "Don't you think you have enough lights on?"
"Nope."
Mia shook her head while she hunted down Raphael, who was still asleep. Jackie watched her disappear in the darkness of his room, and she shuddered. She did not like that inky blackness.
The home was cleared out of anyone. The turtles were out having fun, and the girls with them. Splinter had gone off to find them more food and Jackie was enjoying a night in her room, the only room with the lights on. She curled up on her bed, reading her book when a noise made her scream. A noise told her it was probably just Mikey.
She clutched her chest, glaring at the darkness when he poked his head in.
"Uh...sorry about that Jackie..."
"I'll give you a sorry..."
Mikey went into the room, and she looked at him. He looked around. Unlike the turtles rooms, Jackie decorated hers. She dog-earred a page in her book, set it down and looked at him.
"Jackie...why won't you go into a room that has no light on?"
"I...I don't want to say."
Mikey nodded, then preceeded to be right stupid in front of her. She started laughing when he pretended to fall off of her bed. Mikey hit his head and he got up, rubbing it and grumbling.
"Mikey you are such a fool."
"But you like it!"
"Oh shut up."
Mikey flashed a smile before heading out.
"TURN ON THE LIGHTS!" Jackie yelled out to him.
Mikey poked his head in.
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
"Come on Jackie."
"Please?"
Mikey rolled his eyes, turning on the lights. Jackie quickly went out, very hungry and thirsty.
"Hey where is everyone else?"
"They haven't come home yet!"
"Well that figures." she muttered while Mikey turned the lights on through their home to the kitchen.
She stepped into the room bathed in a yellow glow.
"Time to clean the light fixtures." She said.
Mikey looked at her as she left the fridge door open while gathering things around the kitchen. Once he was sure that she was done, he shut it. Jackie jumped at the noise and sweatdropped.
"You really like the light, don't you?"
"Yes. I do. Just as much as I like you Mikey."
Mikey's green skin turned pink with blush as she walked away. He stayed in the kitchen, leaving the lights on for her.
